Just as a reminder I am a Type 1 diabetic which is important for all diabetics (Type 1 and 2) as well as pre-diabetics who can benefit from Belviq as well:
22 Days in:
Starting weight: 202 Pounds 22 days into useage (this AM 188 Pounds)
Insulin Usage: Starting 30 Units 4 times daily. 15 days into usage 18 Units 4 times daily. My waking Blood Sugar this AM was at 110. I am monitoring just before my bedtime shot.
The decrease in my insulin costs are now saving me the cost of the Belviq as Insulin is twice the cost. – mbenjam2
The patient in the BLOOM-DM clinical trial is Dr. Ed Susman, a medical doctor himself.
I printed prescriptions for 4 more patients yesterday for Belviq. I have printed prescriptions for 211 patients so far for Belviq. Patients are reporting decreased appetite, no side effects, and gradual weight loss. Some insurances cover it without a prior authorization from me, some insurances require prior authorization, and some insurances exclude obesity treatments and will not cover it. If a patient has no coverage of Belviq, we can use the savings card and send them to Kmart in Tucson where the 205 dollar monthly charge can be decreased by 75 dollars per month , so that the cost would be 130 dollars per month for up to 12 months. I am using the voucher for the free 15 day trial on almost all patients. – Steven Vig md internal medicine tucson, arizona 7 2 2013
